Lorène Schibler

Lorène Schibler is a State Research Engineer in Agronomy (MSc Forestry) from the National School “Bordeaux Sciences Agro”, Bordeaux, France. She holds in addition a MSc. module in Applied Environmental Geosciences from the University of Tübingen, Germany.

She was involved in numerous European (EU-FP) and international research projects in various fields of environmental science such as sustainable forest management at the INRA (National Institute for Research in Agronomy) in Bordeaux, the modeling of carbon fluxes over Russian boreal forests with the Max-Planck-Institute of Jena, Germany, the tracking of soil pollution over Eastern and Central Europe at the University of Tübingen.

Along with her scientific expertise, she is currently Project Manager for Carbon Footprint at KlimAktiv located in Tübingen, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promote climate protection and supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) as well as accredited observer under the UNFCCC. Her field of authority ranges from the development of integrated carbon footprinting tools for awareness-raising campaigns among consumers and end customers, to supporting businesses and organisations in implementing climate friendly strategies through the measurement, management and reduction of their corporate carbon footprint or the carbon footprint of their products and services.
